This photo was taken in June 2021 – before the Sawmill Team cut up the logs and built a woodshed.But it gives you a pretty good view of the excavation that took place. The Landscaping Team for 2022 will be working with some local quarries and pouring new stone driveways as well as moving topsoil and working with a hydro-seeding company to plant grass. We will also be locating and transplanting trees in various locations on our property. This building is our “Bunkhouse” and serves as our primary tool for servicing our teams that come from the east cost and deploying all over the state of Alaska.
This team will be led by Tom Denlinger (right). Tom is the founder of LightShine Alaska and has a deep passion to share with you what He has seen God do in this great state over the last 27 years. Not only will you be working hard on this team but this team is for those of you who are pursuing a deeper walk with Jesus Christ and want to see the power of the Holy Spirit unleashed in your own life. We will be talking and praying about this in our daily team Bible studies and worship times. We will also be meeting other amazing Spirit filled believers during this time.

The cost for any of LightShine’s trips is $1850 plus a $40 one time registration fee (if you have never served on a LightShine team before). Cost of trip covers airfare, food, transportation and administration expenses. You will receive an embroidered Carhartt team shirt included in the registration fee. Once you are contacted by your team leader and your place is secured on this team, you can begin raising financial support by sending out support letters to your family and church friends. Simply have them send missionary support to us for your trip costs. Your team leader will help you develop your support letter and include two important dates for your supporters to note. The first financial deadline for half your support ($925) is due on April 15, 2022. This first deadline is very important to keep because it will enables us to purchase your airline tickets. Once airline tickets are purchased, there is no backing out of the team. The second deadline for your entire amount is due May 13, 2022. Please note that these deadlines are strictly enforced. Not keeping them will cause us to ask you to step down from this team and consider another future team.
The earlier you register the sooner you can start raising your financial support. We encourage you to get this out of the way early so you can enjoy the experience without any distractions. You will be so glad you did!
