August 1 -10
This team will be serving north of Fairbanks.
This camp is “off grid” meaning there are no power lines (no electricity available). Years ago, LightShine led a campaign to purchase and install a generator there and the camp is now a fully functioning tool for reaching out to children and youth.
Many kids have spent time at Globe Creek Camp – learning about Jesus Christ and having a lot of fun in the process. But this is not your typical camp (just down the road). It’s 37 miles north of Fairbanks on the road that goes to Prudhoe Bay where the Alaska Pipeline starts. It’s a rugged part of the state where you will experience a raw and beautiful land.
At Globe Creek Camp this year we will be finishing the washroom we started last year. So we need handyman carpenters, and plumbers. We also need general laborers and people who know how to finish odd jobs around their house. There are a lot of odd jobs that need finishing like finishing the grout in the laundry, and putting up trim in the kitchen, also putting 2 windows in the lodge. That is just the start of the projects.
Randy Sauder will be leading this team. Contact Randy with any questions that you might have by calling him at 717-572-0972 of email him at: randsauder@gmail.com
The cost of this trip is $1975.
Our trip cost covers everything you need once you leave your home until you return. The total is determined by analyzing the cost of team assignments from previous years (things like your airline ticket, ground transportation, three meals a day, and many administrative fees that LightShine incurs) and combining that experience with known costs in Alaska.
If you want to be part of this team, please complete this Registration Form with a $40 registration fee. This fee covers the cost of a LightShine Alaska team shirt and locks you in as a team member. Once you are contacted by your team leader and your place is secured on this team, you can begin raising financial support by sending out support letters to your family and church friends. Simply have them send missionary support to us for your trip costs. Your team leader will help you develop your support letter and include two important dates for your supporters to note. The first financial deadline for half your support ($987.50) is due on June 20, 2025. This first deadline is very important to keep because it will enables us to purchase your airline tickets. Once airline tickets are purchased, there is no backing out of the team. The second deadline for your entire amount is July 4, 2025. Please note that these deadlines are strictly enforced. Not keeping them will cause us to ask you to step down from this team and consider another future team. Please take time to review our “Policies” page for more information.
The earlier you register the sooner you can start raising your financial support. We encourage you to get this out of the way early so you can enjoy the experience without any distractions. You will be so glad you did! A side benefit on this trip is seeing God’s beautiful creation and spending time working in it. This will be a life changing experience for you and will give you a new perspective on helping those who are really in need!
‘The King will answer and say to them, ‘I assure you and most solemnly say to you, to the extent that you did it for one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it for Me.’ Matthew 25:40
Thank you for considering going with us in 2025!
