I found out about LightShine through a friend who served with them in the past.  I looked up their website and saw they were having a monthly meeting. I was so nervous to go, as I didn’t know anyone, but I really felt God telling me I needed to go to this meeting. That was the winter of 2022/2023. I’m so glad that I obeyed and went to that meeting.

My first trip was in June 2023 to the native village of Gulkana. Even though I don’t posses any certain skill in building or construction, I was able to help with small projects and cook for my team. In the summer of 2024 I went to Homer and also to the native village of Pedro Bay. I have found a group of people who love the Lord and have a heart to serve Him, just like me! What a great blessing to belong to this family of believers.

I have grown so much in my faith and have been so blessed through serving with LightShine. I’ve always had a connection with native people and am looking forward to building relationships with the people of Alaska. I have been feeling the Lord telling me to lead a team of my own. This is a big step for me, but I am prayerfully moving forward in this. LightShine has provided a way for me to serve Jesus and to grow in my faith and encourage others. I look forward to seeing what God has in store for me as I continue to seek Him and serve people in His name.

My wonderful husband, Eric, and my 5 children are so supportive and will hopefully one day join me in Alaska. I am thankful to my husband and family for taking care of my children while I am away for these few weeks. I think it is important for my children to see their parents serving Jesus as part of their daily lives.

Please consider praying for me as you read my personal newsletters:
