Here is a report from Heather:
When we got to Camp AN, we moved all the wood and metal for the new bunkhouse and staged it around the building site. After compacting the ground and squaring up the 18’x44’ building we installed a 3 layer floating pier foundation then we installed the 12” glue lam beams. We started to cut the floor joist before turning the building over to a framing construction team from Iowa that arrived on Sunday. Then we were tasked with milling lumber for the small decks and stairs from logs they got from the Yukon river. Then we made and installed 2 stairs and 2 decks for the bunkhouse. We also unloaded multiple boat loads of supplies.
The camp is very remote, only accessible by flat bottom boat, 30 minutes from the village of Emmonak. All their supplies have to be shipped in and taken by boat. They have their own water system, using water from the river, and a big generator to run the kitchen. They have two weeks of camp, expecting about 175 kids each week. The kids will have the opportunity to hear about Jesus, to receive 3 meals a day, and to just be loved on.
