Our ministry is growing and there is a new opportunity being birthed that we are very excited about. Tom Denlinger (speaking in this photo) is the Co-Founder and Ministry Director for LightShine International Ministries and has been building and deploying teams to Alaska for the last 29 years.
In 2023, Tom began talking to some of the leaders at his church about the possibility of helping missionaries in other countries. Life Center in Harrisburg, PA calls their missionaries, “Life Lines”. The pastoral staff at Life Center desires to help each of their “Life Lines” with their ministry’s physical needs. They have given Tom preliminary approval for LightShine to begin researching how to start this vision. Yes, this could happen in local churches everywhere. But this vision will start at Life Center this year.
Many people want to do something for the Lord but many don’t know what to do. LightShine offers ways to serve with your hands. On every team assignment, there are many opportunities to meet, bless and encourage people. This is how the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ is established and strengthened. This is what missions is all about!
Over the years, we have had people tell us that although they like what we do in Alaska (organizing and sending skilled labor to help local churches, Bible camps and other ministries), but they personally didn’t feel a connection to the arctic culture. So, we are beginning to research the potential of expanding our vision of sending skilled labor not just to Alaska, but potentially all over the world.
The official board of LightShine gave approval to start expanding our ministry internationally. This logo (below) is designed to be a “conversation starter” and will open up the doors to share with those who ask what it means. Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” In Matthew 25:40, Jesus also said, “… inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ This logo represents who we are as a ministry and what we do.

Praise God for these potential new opportunities! Please pray that more leaders will obey the LORD’s calling on their lives and join our team!
