Be Like The Sun

I would really recommend reading and meditating on Judges 4-5 that tells the story of DEBORAH the prophetess and judge in Israel and JAEL, the Kenite. Judges 4 tells the story and chapter 5 is known as “Deborah’s Song”. This is our version of this song. The stories of two great women are featured in this song. DEBORAH heard the word of the LORD and led the army. JAEL was a cunning and courageous “silent warrior” who killed Sisera, the commander of Israel’s enemy by pounding a tent peg through his temple and into the ground (Judges 4:17-23/5:24-27).
.
I wrote the lyrics of this song from the perspective of Deborah’s father. At the beginning of the song, I speak a blessing over her and give her to the LORD. I believe every father needs to speak words of affirmation over their daughters and encourage them to be the woman of God that He has called them to be. If you do not have a father to speak this blessing over YOU, consider these words are being declared over you!
.
Woman of God, He has made YOU and called YOU to do great and mighty exploits for Him (Ephesians 2:10). Take that calling seriously. YOUR calling may be like Deborah’s in front of an army or it may be in the quiet surroundings inside YOUR home, like Jael. But God has great things for YOU to do. Never forget that WORSHIP is often most effective as we fulfill Ephesians 3:10 and declare His manifold wisdom, power and might to the principalities and powers that attempt to rule this world. They are defeated in Jesus’ Name! Ask God to show YOU every day what He would have YOU do and then step out in faith to DO it!
.
I am dedicating this song to my daughter, Chloe, who also has a call of God on her life. I pray all of you are encouraged and inspired by this song. – Tom Denlinger

V1

Time keeps on racing on to bigger dreams

Mighty exploits at the hand of a child

Raised in my care – prepared and chosen by You,

To establish Your Kingdom – destroying the darkness – displacing the enemy – Judging Your people. Yes, I give her to You – She is Yours

Give her Your wisdom and strength for Your GLORY, my LORD

V2

My father, your words mean more to me – the source of my strength

The people come to the palm in the mountains of Ephraim (Judges 4:5)

His favor, His wisdom poured out on me – no mortal man can tell.

Hear, oh kings! Give ear, O princes!

I will praise the LORD God of Israel! (Judges 5:2-3)

CHORUS

You are the LORD of all, the kings all bow before You

The earth shook and the heavens rained,

The mountains gushed before You (Judges 5:3-5)

You are our God. Your enemies gone! We worship You together

Let those who love You, be like the sun – burning bright forevermore (Judges 5:31)

V3

Jael, most blessed, he never knew who you were

You nourished him from your magnificent bowl filled with curds and whey

You reached out, you took that tent peg in hand – the hammer came crashing down

He bowed, he fell, he laid at your feet (Judges 5:24-27)

The people rejoiced together

CHORUS

You are the LORD of all, the kings all bow before You

The earth shook and the heavens rained,

The mountains gushed before You (Judges 5:3-5)

You are our God. Your enemies gone! We worship You together

Let those who love You, be like the sun – burning bright forevermore (Judges 5:31)

Let all Your enemies perish before You, LORD! (vs.31)

Holy, Holy, Holy are You LORD!
